Coffey-managed STAR-Ghana wins UK
award
The Coffey-managed STAR-Ghana
program has won an award. The Ghana Journalist Association has recognised
STAR-Ghana for a “commitment to freedom and independence of the media, which is
necessary in engendering a good climate for media practice and for building
democracy.”
The program received the
honorary “Companion of Press Freedom and the Defendant of Transparency and
Accountability” award.
Celebrating the heroes and heroines of our nation.
STAR-Ghana is designed to
increase the influence of civil society and Parliament in the governance of
public goods and service delivery. It has the ultimate goal of improving accountability
and responsiveness of Ghana’s government, traditional authorities and the
private sector. It is funded by the UK Department for International
Development, Danida, USAID and the European Union.
